Professor Harrison nominated for SheInspires male Ally of the Year award

A Nigerian Professor of Leadership and Enterprise in the University of Greater Manchester, Christian Harrison, has been nominated Christian Harrisonfor the Male Ally of the Year category at the SheInspires Awards in recognition of his contributions to advancing gender equality, equity and inclusion.
Harrison described the nomination as a significant honour, noting that the values being recognised have remained central to his professional work and personal mission.
“This recognition celebrates individuals who are committed to advancing gender equality, equity and inclusion; values that have been central to my work and purpose throughout my career,” he said.
He stressed that promoting inclusive leadership and expanding opportunities for women and underrepresented groups is a responsibility rather than a choice.
According to him, his efforts have focused on mentoring, advocacy and influencing institutional practices to create environments where diverse groups can thrive.
“Championing inclusive leadership and creating opportunities for others to thrive has never been just an aspiration for me; it is a responsibility,” he added.

Harrison expressed appreciation for the nomination and acknowledged the support of colleagues and collaborators.
“I am immensely grateful for this recognition and for those who took the time to nominate me. I also want to acknowledge the many inspiring individuals I have had the privilege to work with and learn from along the way,” he said.
He also commended Gulnaz Brennan and the SheInspires team for promoting women’s achievements globally.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to hold in November.
Harrison is also associated with the British Academy of Management, where he contributes to leadership development and academic discourse on inclusive organisational practices.
