Nigeria Labour Congress in Ogun State has honoured Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, ‘Koye Jolaoso, with a Distinguished Labour Solidarity Award for his efforts at repositioning and rebranding the polytechnic and improvement in staff welfare.
Presenting the award, the Executive Council, led by Chairman, Hameed Ademola, noted the achievements at MAPOLY since assumption of office of Jolaoso.
These, the council said, include provision of an enabling working environment and sustained commitment to staff welfare.

In his citation, the chairman said the award is in recognition of the rector’s contributions to labour and the public.
He described Jolaoso’s leadership is defined by humanity, selflessness, and solidarity with the workforce.
“Your contributions to lives of people and to growth of your institution are examples worthy of recognition and emulation”.
Jolaoso lauded leadership of NLC for the honour, describing it as thoughtful and encouraging. He said his role as the first alumnus to serve as rector places on him a responsibility to represent stakeholders’ interests through transformative leadership and institutional repositioning.
The rector thanked Allah, and dedicated the award to staff and students.
He noted that the achievement was a product of collective effort, saying no meaningful success can be attained in isolation.
Head of Public Relations and Protocol, ‘Yemi Ajibola, listed other members of the polytechnic management team at the event to include Deputy Rector, Dr. Yetunde Lanre-Iyanda; Registrar, Mrs. Olubunmi Elewodalu; and Bursar, Mrs. Folasade Madariola, .
