Rotary International District 9111 is set to host its District Team Leadership Seminar (DTLS), a strategic training for incoming executives who will take over in the 2026–2027 Rotary year.

District 9111 Governor-Elect, Bukola Bakare, said the seminar will equip officers with understanding of responsibilities and expectations of their roles.

“The officers will be trained on specifics and expectations of their offices,” she added.

The training:  “Creating Lasting Impact,” will take place in Lagos from February 27 to 28.

Bakare said the seminar will be attended by district officers, committee chair, and others.

“We are training those to manage the district in the 2026–2027 Rotary year,” she added.

She said participants will gain knowledge of Rotary operations, strengthen professional networks, and develop leadership, team-building, and management skills.

Chairman of DTLS Committee, Samson Okenyi, said participants will receive training in effective communication, action planning, goal setting, and time management.

“The training is to hone skills of our leaders,” he said, urging district leaders to be serious about the programme. He added that the knowledge gained will also benefit participants in other areas, including business management, marriage, and personal finance.

The District Learning Facilitator, Past District Governor (PAG) Bola Oyebade, said facilitators include PAG Patrick Ikheloa and Omotunde Lawson; Deputy District Training Facilitator Tonia Tayo Taiwo; immediate past and Pioneer District Governor, Dr Wole Kukoyi; Regional Coordinator for Zone 22, Past District Governor Nze Anizor; JCI Senator Dr Kunbi Wuraola; JCI Senator Paschal Dike; JCI Senator Olumide Ajomale; District Governor-Elect, District 9112, Olayioye Abidoye; Past District Governor, District 9112, Kola Shodipo; and PAG Kennedy Ejakpomewhe, who serves as a resource for the committee.

Oyebade said the seminar remained a cornerstone programme aimed at building capacity, strengthening leadership, and preparing Rotary leaders to deliver impactful service across communities.
