The Iyade Royal Family of Ikeja has cleared the air on a controversial report affirming Prince Tajudeen Muritala Raji as a bona fide son of Ikeja town in Lagos state.

The Iyade Royal Family of Ikeja has cleared the air on a controversial report affirming Prince Tajudeen Muritala Raji as a bona fide son of Ikeja town in Lagos state.
In a press conference held on Saturday, the family disowned Raji, noting that he is falsely parading himself as a member alongside Prince Olushola Coker, whose claims as the head of the family were denounced during the conference.
This is coming after a publication signed by Olushola Coker affirmed Raji as a bona fide son of Ikeja town in Lagos state.
Among those present at the meeting were Prince Musiliu Afariogun (Head of the family), Princess Sidikat Illo ( member), Prince Rafiu Afariogun (Elder in the family), Princess Idayat Folashade Adejoke Illo (Iyalode), Prince Mondiu Abiodun (member), Prince Muritala Abiodun (Member), Sheikh Kamorudeen Adeola Illo (Chief Imam of Ikeja), Prince Saheed Afariogun (member), Prince Jamiu Alabi Afariogun (member), the Akogun of Ikeja, to mention but a few.
According to Prince Musiliu Afariogun, the head of the Iyade Royal Family, Raji is not known to any of them, nor is the self-acclaimed family head who affirmed him a bona fide member.
Prince Musiliu noted that he has been the head of the family for years with no issues, while challenging Raji to come forward and explain how he is related to the family.
“I am the head of the family and no one else. I have occupied the position for years with no issues, so if anyone is saying he is the family head, let him come out and tell us how he emerged.

“It is never in our history that anyone bears Raji, and we would like to call on the government to look into the matter before they turn Ikeja into a war zone.”
Likewise, the Iyalode of Ikeja, Princess Idayat Folashade Adejoke Illo, who is also a member of the family, explained that the family has four branches, among which Raji does not belong. She described his claims as fake, while urging the public to distance themselves from any publication that claims the same.
“We are the Iyade Royal Family of Ikeja, and we have four branches, namely Ilo, Ogunsanyi, Ainaoshe branch, and Makun branch, that don't exist anymore. We have every branch represented here, so anyone who claims they are from any of these branches is nothing but fake. Tajudeen Muritala Raji isn't a member of our family; we don't know him from anywhere, and the person claiming to be the head of the family isn't. We have our head of family here. The publication and picture are fake; we disassociate ourselves from it.”
