Mr Gbore said the institution received 522 applications, granted provisional admission to 447 candidates and eventually cleared 413 who met all academic and regulatory conditions.

According to him, the figure represents a 58.85 per cent increase compared to the previous session’s admission.

"This matriculation formally welcomes 413 students into the Sam Maris University academic community. It is the highest intake recorded since the university was established,” the vice-chancellor said.

He charged the new students to maintain discipline, integrity and academic excellence, warning that admission into the university comes with responsibilities beyond the classroom.

The vice-chancellor said the school was positioning itself to produce "morally upright, solution-driven and globally competitive graduates," in line with its development-focused mandate.

Mr Gbore added that the university had begun expanding its academic offerings and infrastructure, including foreign language programmes and upgraded ICT facilities, to improve students’ competitiveness in the global space.

He also assured parents of the safety of their wards, noting that the management had strengthened collaboration with security agencies to guarantee a secure learning environment.

The vice-chancellor commended the institution’s Board of Trustees chairman and chief promoter, Sam T. Ologunorisa, SAN, alongside members of the governing council and other stakeholders, for their support toward the university’s growth.
