There is no joy quite like watching your children rise and then watching them love. For Chief Mrs. Folashade Okoya, MON, that joy arrived in waves last week. Not only did she mark her 49th birthday, but she also witnessed a moment every mother dreams of her daughter, Rahidat Olamide Okoya, introducing her spouse-to-be, Imran Saro Gobir, to the illustrious Okoya family.

The setting was the stunning Oluwanisola mansion. The occasion, A private but undeniably alluring introduction ceremony. Despite the guest list being deliberately intimate, the atmosphere was anything but small, because when the Okoya’s host, the world watches.

Shade was super excited; in fact, she could barely contain her joy. A serial entrepreneur and fashion connoisseur, she moved gracefully through the crowd, greeting guests and ensuring that everyone who stepped into that refined space was treated to the full Okoya standard, lavish, warm, and unforgettable.

The who’s who of Nigeria’s business, political, and social elite turned up to celebrate the two love birds. But amid the glamour and the glowing smiles, there was a softer, quieter moment only a mother could feel.

Shade was emotional as Her once-small daughter was stepping into womanhood. Soon, Olamide would leave her mother’s roof to become a wife. while that truth tugs at a mother’s heart, it also fills it with immense pride. For Shade Okoya, last week wasn’t just a birthday or a betrothal. It was a mother’s bragging right, earned not by loud claims, but by quiet, consistent love. That kind of joy is unexplainable. It’s the feeling of a woman holding her newborn and now, holding the promise of a new beginning for her child.
