Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has offered automatic employment to no fewer than 37 first-class graduates of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.

Soludo, who made the offer on Saturday during the institution's 16th convocation ceremony held at the University’s main campus in Igbariam, also offered automatic scholarships for postgraduate studies to the university's first-class graduates.

The Governor, a first-class graduate in Economics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State, further made a personal donation of N4 million to the overall best graduating student, Ume, Augustus Somtochukwu, of the Economics Department of the University, who scored a cumulative grade point aggregate of 4.85 out of 5.0.

Soludo had earlier decorated the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Rev Matthew Hassan Kukah, following his appointment as the new Chancellor of the University.

During the convocation week, the institution hosted two European Ambassadors: the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Mr. Goutier Mignot, who delivered a lecture on climate action, and the Polish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Michal Cygan, who delivered a lecture on shared prosperity.

The lectures reflect the three Vs of Values, Viability, and Visibility of the University Vice Chancellor, Prof Kate Omenugha. Both Ambassadors were received by Governor Soludo at the State Government House, also known as The Light House, in Awka, the State capital.
