Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DCTDA) has intensified its environmental sanitation efforts in Asaba, carrying out a major clean-up and enforcement operation. The agency’s Environment Unit focused on clearing blocked drainage systems along Ibusa Road, especially near the Magistrates’ Court area.

This intervention addressed persistent environmental issues and helped reduce the risk of flooding.

Enforcement activities continued into Saturday, targeting street trading and removing illegal and makeshift structures obstructing walkways and road setbacks.

The operation reinforced the agency’s zero-tolerance stance on environmental violations and urban disorder.

The Director General, DCTDA, Chief Clement Ofuani, said maintaining cleanliness in the capital territory was essential for public health, safety and the city’s image.

He urged residents and traders to cooperate with authorities.

The exercise was led on-site by the Head of Environment Unit, Mr. Isaac Nwosu, whose team demonstrated strong commitment through active monitoring and enforcement.

He said the agency would sustain its efforts through continuous enforcement and public awareness campaigns.

He called on residents to play their part in keeping Asaba clean and orderly.
