Lagos State will host the second energy investment forum to speed up power sector reforms and draw private capital into the state’s electricity market.

Holding in May at Lagos Oriental Hotel, the summit expects over 4,000 onsite and virtual participants, including policymakers, financiers, developers, and technology innovators.

The theme: “Lagos Energy Evolution: Transforming the Future,” targets practical fixes for Lagos’s electricity woes, like grid constraints, unreliable supply, and fossil fuel reliance.

Talks will cover scaling renewables, decentralised generation, distribution upgrades, and strategies for a 24/7 economy.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will be the host, with his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat. Energy Commissioner Biodun Ogunleye is leading coordination with stakeholders in the power value chain.

The ministry said the summit shifts from policy talk to bankable projects, building on Lagos State Electricity Law 2024, which gives subnationals stronger control over electricity investments.

Ogunleye said it will review the law implementation and build partnerships for results in generation, transmission, distribution.

The event features plenary sessions, technical masterclasses, roundtables, exhibitions, and business matchmaking. Expected outcomes include MoUs, public-private partnerships, and project commitments.
