A pro-government group, Disciples of Jagaban, has called on Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's reform efforts, warning that a lack of cooperation could delay the country’s progress.

In a statement, the group’s national coordinator, Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje, said that recent political tensions were beginning to distract from the urgent task of national development.

Alawuje noted that while opposition remains a vital pillar of democracy, it must be rooted in sincerity, responsibility, and a shared commitment to national growth.

He said the Tinubu administration came to office at a critical moment, inheriting deep structural challenges that require bold, sometimes difficult decisions.

According to him, reforms aimed at addressing economic and security concerns may not yield immediate results but are necessary for sustainable development.

The group stressed that meaningful progress cannot be achieved without cooperation across political, ethnic, and religious lines.

It added that no government can succeed in isolation, insisting that national transformation requires collective responsibility.

Alawuje, however, expressed concern over what he described as the posture of some opposition elements, singling out the African Democratic Congress.

He argued that political competition becomes counterproductive when driven more by rhetoric than by the presentation of practical alternatives.

The group maintained that Nigerians deserve credible policy options rather than persistent criticism without solutions.

It also emphasized the need for accountability, transparency, and integrity among leaders, noting that public trust must be earned through proven character and track record.

Alawuje urged all stakeholders to prioritize the national interest, warning that deepening divisions could slow Nigeria’s journey toward stability and growth.
