The FRSC Sector Commander, Oludare Ogunjobi, confirmed the accident in a statement signed by the Command’s spokesperson, Mr Odunsi Afolabi, in Abeokuta.
Afolabi explained that the accident that involved eight male adults happened about 1.04 p.m. at Oniworo on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Afolabi said three persons lost their lives in the crash while one other sustained various injuries.
“The corpses of the victims have been taken to FOS morgue, Opara, while the survivors were taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere, for treatment,” he said.
Afolabi attributed the cause of the crash to speeding and bursted tyres.
He said obstructions had been cleared by FRSC Ogunmakin Unit to restore traffic flow, and the vehicles were moved to the MTD Alapako Police station for further investigation.
Afolabi quoted the sector commander as sending his condolences to the families of deceased victims, and praying that God would grant them the fortitude to bear their losses.
He admonished motorists to adhere to speed limits and ensure their tyres are in good condition before embarking on any journey.
