One person was severely injured on Tuesday following a gas explosion at Adeleye Street, Doyin area of Orile-Iganmu in Lagos.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said it received a distress call at about 12:23 p.m. and arrived at the scene by 12:34 p.m., deploying fire crews from Sari Iganmu and Ajegunle Fire Stations to contain the situation.
According to the agency, "The incident was caused by a gas explosion, which occurred while an attendant was refilling a gas cylinder in one of the two shops in the frontage of a demolished building on a half plot of land."

The agency further noted that while the attendant sustained fatal injuries and was taken to an undisclosed hospital, no fatalities have been reported.
Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Deputy Controller General, Ogabi Olajide, disclosed that an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, adding that further updates would be made available.
