Etagbedavwe Amwarha, a pupil of Transcorp Power School, has emerged overall winner of the 2025 Delta State Primary School mathematics competition.

The achievement is a proud reflection of Transcorp Power’s enduring commitment to educational excellence and community development in its host communities.

The competition, organised by the Delta State Government, tested mathematical aptitude across three rigorous stages.

In the first stage, a total of 172 pupils from across the state participated simultaneously in their respective Local Government Areas.

Following a competitive first round, 41 pupils from the Delta Central Senatorial District qualified for the second stage.

The field was further narrowed to only 8 finalists from across the entire state, who convened in Asaba for the grand finale.

Competing against Delta State’s brightest young mathematical minds, Amwarha of Transcorp Power School stood above all others to be crowned the overall winner.

MD/CEO, Transcorp Power Plc, Peter Ikenga said: “We are incredibly proud of Etagbedavwe Amwarha and of everyone at Transcorp Power School who made this extraordinary achievement possible.

" At Transcorp Power, we have always understood that our responsibility extends beyond generating electricity, it encompasses energising the communities around us. The success of our pupils is the most direct measure of that responsibility fulfilled. We remain committed to creating environments where talent can thrive, and we will continue to invest in the education and future of the young people in our host communities.”

Etagbedavwe Amwarha thanked his parents, teachers and Transcorp Power Plc for creating the enabling environment for his academic success:

“I am so happy to have won for my school and my community. I want to say thank you to my teachers and my parents for always encouraging me to keep trying. This makes me want to work even harder. I am grateful for Transcorp Power Plc for creating the platform for me to excel in my academics."
