Bayern Munich produced a stunning second-half fightback at the Allianz Arena last night to eliminate Real Madrid and reach the Champions League semi-finals.

It was an extraordinary seven-goal contest that swung back and forth before two late Bayern goals in the 89th  and 90th  minutes sealed a famous victory.

Real Madrid made a breath-taking start, going ahead inside the first minute through

Arda Güler. Bayern levelled almost immediately in the sixth minute  through Aleksandar

Pavlović, but Guler  struck again on 29 minutes  for Madrid to retake the lead. The hosts equalised again on 38 minutes through a fine finish by Harry Kane , only for Madrid to restore their advantage on the stroke of half-time through a third goal — leaving Bayern trailing heading into the break.

The tie looked to be slipping away from the Germans until a dramatic late salvo. Bayern however, equalised in the 89th  minute through Luis Diaz  and, with Real Madrid down to ten men following a yellow-card accumulation by Camavinga, Michael Olise struck again in the 90th  minute to complete the turnaround.

Meanwhile, Arsenal did enough at the Emirates to progress on the strength of their first-leg advantage, though it was a laboured performance in a  drab goalless encounter.

. Arsenal held firm without ever fully convincing, and Mikel Arteta's side march into the semi-finals where they will meet Atletico Madrid,

Bayern in the meantime, will  face defending champions, PSG in the other semi-finals.
