Serie A leaders Inter Milan have a 3–1 deficit to overturn when they host Bodø/Glimt at San Siro in the second leg of their Champions League playoff on Tuesday night.

When Antonio Conte took charge of Inter in 2019, he was determined to remove the club’s long-standing “pazza” (crazy) identity.

However, current manager Cristian Chivu may need to embrace unpredictability if the Nerazzurri are to recover against one of this season’s surprise packages.

Bodø/Glimt took control of the tie in the first leg, scoring twice in quick succession shortly after the hour mark to stun the Italian giants.

The Norwegian champions now travel to Milan with a two-goal advantage and growing belief that their remarkable European run can continue.

Head coach Kjetil Knutsen will nevertheless demand discipline and composure from his cohesive squad if they are to complete the task in one of Europe’s most imposing venues.

Inter struggled to cope with Bodø’s fluid and incisive attacking play in Norway, and the visitors will draw further confidence from recent away performances, including strong results at Borussia Dortmund and Atlético Madrid. Another statement performance at San Siro would firmly establish Bodø/Glimt as the competition’s breakout side.
