Ahead of the 2026 Osun State guber poll and 2027 General Election, the General Overseer of World Soul Winning Evangelistic Ministry (WOSEM), Pastor Paul Obadare, son of the late renowned televangelist, Apostle Timothy Obadare, has urged Christians to vote for candidates who demonstrate integrity, godliness and commitment to good governance.
Obadare speaking with newsmen at WOSEM Shiloh ground, Ilesa, to herald the 52nd annual International Conference tagged ‘Form but Faulty’ lamented that array of challenges facing Nigeria, stating that societies are grappling with Economic instability and rising poverty, insecurity and violence, moral decadence and loss of values, leadership crises and lack of accountability, global tensions and uncertainty.
He urged Christians not to be impulsive when voting for leaders in the forthcoming Osun State gubernatorial election and the 2027 General Election, to enthrone a responsible government that will tackle challenges facing the country.
The clergyman noted that Nigeria's leadership has a very critical role to play, hence, “candidates will prioritise the welfare of citizens through people-centred policies, strengthen security systems to protect lives and property, promote transparency, justice and accountability at all levels and invest in youth empowerment, education and job creation should be voted for.”

He counselled that “You should not choose a leader based on religion or which church such a person is attending, you must vote for the person who has the fear of God, a promise keeper.
“Before we give a second term to political office holders in Osun and Nigeria as a whole, we must critically look at their manifestos, which they promised and see if they have fulfilled them, even if they are yet to get everything done. Are they committed to it in their first term in Osun State? In Osun State, we need to ask questions about whether the incumbent governor has delivered his electoral promises before going ahead to give him a second term.”
He stressed the need for leaders and citizens to embrace righteousness and honesty, saying, “Our leaders must live by the standards of God; this is the way to get the backing of God and people, which is the surest way to get another chance. Power belongs to God alone.”
Speaking about the programme, he said the conference is the legacy of his father, Apostle Timothy Obadare, which has been very helpful in transforming lives.
