Oba Rilwan Olawale Aremu Yekini Cooler, a well-known Lagos socialite and recently crowned Olora of Ora in Kwara State, has once again been granted grace by providence. His coronation came as a rude shock to many, but also sparked wild jubilation within Lagos social circles and in Kwara State.

The one-time Olori Odo of Ijora is still getting accustomed to the cultures and traditions of his people, while also learning the ropes of being a traditional monarch. As he transitions from being a Lagos socialite known as “Cooler,” he is finding it easier to embrace his new role visiting other kingdoms to build symbiotic partnerships and seeking guidance from fellow kings within the Lagos metropolis.

While many in Lagos social circles note that the Olora of Ora spent most of his formative years in Lagos, where he owns business chains and properties, the question remains: where will he rule from? Some argue that he might rule Ora town from Lagos, where his primary residence is. Others defend him, insisting that he will have to stay in the town because his kinship will bring development and transform the once-silent community into a center of activity that will positively affect the lives of his subjects.

Many of his friends are rallying around him to ensure his reign remains smooth and successful. We gathered that his recent visits to kings in Lagos are meant to seek support and solidarity to help his town witness a turnaround in fortune. While some argue that he might spend most of his time ruling from Lagos, those close to the monarch say his visit to Lagos is simply a way to properly hand over his business dealings to trusted managers so he can focus on the business of ruling the town.
