Following protests by workers of OK Foods Limited Nigeria, a subsidiary of global agribusiness giant, Olam International Limited, a team of the company’s management yesterday visited The Nation’s Matori, Lagos head-office to state their side of the story.
The workers, in what has become a week-long protest, have been protesting what they have described as poor wages and inhumane working conditions, taking over part of the busy Apapa-Oshodi Expressway and Fatai Atere Way, both in Lagos.

However, the company, through its Head of Human Resources, Mr. Olusegun Tanimola, accompanied by its Engineering Manager, Mr. Raphael Nwachukwu, insisted that it had been responsive to their agitations, even consenting to an increase in their fortnightly pay, albeit on a condition.
