Senator Binos Yeroe who has represented Adamawa South Senatorial District in the National Assembly since 2019 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has left the party.

Yaroe, a popular senator who has earned his name from constant free medical outreaches to each of the nine local government areas of his constituency, leaves a huge gap of goodwill in the fast dwindling PDP.

Yaroe announced his withdrawal from the party saying that he had endured enough of a PDP which he described as a party drifting irreversibly towards self-destruction at the national level.

In a statement to newsmen, Yaroe, emphasizing that the current state of the PDP left him with no option, stating, “After many years of fruitful journey as a committed member of the PDP, it pains me that the party has elected to self-destruct at the national level."

Making the point that he had little choice than to withdraw his membership of the party, the senator confirmed that he had officially notified the party leadership of his decision.

He said he had submitted his formal resignation letter to his ward chairman in the Mbilla Ward of Mayo-Belwa LGA and copied the chairmen of the party at the local council and then state levels.

The Nation reports that Yaroe's defection is coming as the second notable one this month after ex-minister of state for Health, Dr Aliyu Idi Hong.

Similarly, the state governor himself, Ahmadu Fintiri, is believed set to announce his own defection any day henceforth.
