The Youth Economic Intervention and De-radicalisation Programme (YEIDEP) has distanced itself from an advertorial circulating on social media claiming the programme is offering agricultural training scholarships alongside a N500,000 business grant through Fidelity Bank Plc.

In a statement signed by its Coordinator-General, Kennedy Iyere, the programme described the flyer as false and warned that it is intended to mislead members of the public.

According to the statement, the material carries the logos of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development and Fidelity Bank, creating a misleading impression of authenticity.

Iyere clarified that YEIDEP has no partnership or initiative as presented in the advert and urged the public to treat the information with caution.

He explained that official updates on the programme’s activities are communicated through recognised national newspapers and verified platforms of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development.

The programme advised Nigerians to disregard the flyer and verify information through official channels, reaffirming its commitment to transparency in its operations.

“Please note that news about YEIDEP's activities is usually widely published and reported in major National Dailies and also on the website of the Federal Ministry of Youth

Development, specifically the news platform of the Honourable Minister.

“Therefore, the general public is advised to disregard the said flyer and treat it as a tool for fraudulent operations.”
