It reads: “I write to notify you of my decision to resign from the Peoples Democratic Party and defection to the All Progressives Congress with immediate effect.

“This decision has been taken after extensive consultation with my constituents, political associates and family members after a very careful assessment of the current political landscape in view of the internal crisis and division within the PDP which has remained unresolved.

“I believe aligning with the APC will better position me to effectively serve the interests and aspirations of my Constituency and Yobe State in general.

“Kindly, therefore, accept this letter as my notice of defection in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
