A political support group, Tinubu/Dikko Assured (TDA) 2027, has settled the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) final examination fees for about 300 students of Arabic Teachers College, Katsina.
Speaking during the presentation in Katsina, the Commissioner for Education, Yusuf Suleiman-Jibia, represented by Hajiya Raliya Yusuf-Jiba, Director of Senior Secondary Schools, commended the group for the intervention.
He noted that the gesture would significantly support students, particularly those from less privileged backgrounds, in completing their education.
The commissioner described education as a critical sector that requires sustained collaboration between government and stakeholders to achieve meaningful development, urging other organisations to emulate the initiative.
Director-General of TDA, Alhaji Umar Ahmad-Zayyad, represented by the state Coordinator, Ibrahim Khalil, said the effort reflects the group’s commitment to education and community development.
“The group recognises the role of education in shaping society and will continue to support initiatives that empower young people,” he said.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Katsina Local Government, Isah Miqdad, said the intervention complements government efforts in education and infrastructure, adding that it would ease the financial burden on parents and guardians while encouraging students to focus on their studies.
Benefiting students and residents expressed appreciation for the support, describing it as timely and impactful. They pledged to make judicious use of the opportunity and called for the continuation of similar initiatives.
The group also handed over a motorised borehole it constructed for residents of Kwaron Dorawa community in Sabuwar Unguwa, Katsina metropolis.
