The Katsina State Command of the Lajnatul Hisbah Association of Nigeria has pledged to support the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) through voter education, community mobilisation and grassroots engagement to ensure credible outcomes in the 2027 general elections.
The Katsina Command leader, Billiaminu Mohammed Balarabe, made the commitment while addressing a press conference, where he also underscored the importance of continuous voter registration and the need to elect credible candidates.
“As we look forward to the next electoral cycle, it is imperative to recognise the vital role played by INEC in ensuring free, fair and credible elections,” he said.
He urged registered voters to safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and remain prepared for the next polls.
“Democracy thrives when citizens actively participate. Voting is not only a right but also a duty that shapes the future of our nation,” he added.
Balarabe further stressed the need to elect competent and trustworthy leaders, noting that the quality of leadership determines governance, development and national unity.
The group also warned against electoral malpractice and violence, assuring that it would collaborate with security agencies to promote a peaceful and hitch-free electoral process.
