A pro-Tinubu support group, Global Alliance for Tinubu Campaign (GATIC 2027), on Wednesday unveiled plans to mobilise five million votes nationwide for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the January 2027 presidential election.

The group, which described itself as an umbrella body of professionals, technocrats and businessmen within and outside the country, made the declaration at its inaugural press conference in Abuja.

Its Director-General, Prince Bevis Paul Igbinoba, said the organisation had established structures across the 774 local government areas and was poised to galvanise grassroots support for the President’s re-election.

“We have committed ourselves to the task of mobilising five million Nigerian voters for President Tinubu in the forthcoming presidential election,” Igbinoba said.

He explained that the group was formed in response to what it termed the achievements of the Tinubu administration since its inauguration on May 29, 2023.

According to him, members of the alliance, drawn from diverse professional backgrounds at home and in the diaspora, resolved to coordinate support for a second term bid after assessing the administration’s performance in the last 33 months.

Igbinoba said the President inherited an economy burdened by fuel subsidy payments and multiple foreign exchange windows but took “bold and decisive steps” to address the challenges.

“In his inaugural address, President Tinubu removed fuel subsidy and abolished multiple foreign exchange rates. Despite the initial shock waves, the gains of these initiatives are beginning to manifest,” he said.

Highlighting what he described as key milestones under the Renewed Hope Agenda, the DG listed increased crude oil production, improved revenue accruals to states, the student loan scheme for indigent students and intervention funds for farmers through the Bank of Industry at single-digit interest rates.

He also referenced ongoing infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and other road projects across the six geopolitical zones.

On investment inflows, Igbinoba claimed that between 2023 and 2024, Nigeria secured over $3.5 billion in foreign direct investment, while portfolio investment inflows stood at over $13.35 billion.

He added that the country’s debt service-to-revenue ratio had declined from 97 per cent in 2022 to less than 61 per cent in 2025, which he attributed to fiscal reforms under the current administration.

While acknowledging persisting economic and security concerns, Igbinoba said ongoing reforms required time to yield full results.

“The challenges are enormous, but we cannot afford to truncate the current policy direction or abort the gains already recorded,” he said.

He described the group’s five-million-vote target as achievable, noting that its campaign strategies would be unveiled in due course.

Igbinoba also called on the media to support what he termed efforts to consolidate the administration’s policies, adding that the organisation would leverage its nationwide and diaspora networks to achieve its objective.
