Two aides to Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa have resigned their appointments as media assistants.

One of the appointees, Pastor Taiwo Gbamila, who served as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Multimedia, tendered his resignation in a letter dated February 16, 2026.

In the letter addressed to the governor, Gbamila appreciated the opportunity to serve in the administration and formally announced his decision to step down from office.

The correspondence was acknowledged at the Governor’s Office, The Nation learnt yesterday.

Gbamila’s resignation letter, which was brief, expressed gratitude to the governor for the privilege to contribute to governance during his time in office.

Another aide, Olugbenga Abire, also exited the administration and publicly disclosed his decision through a Facebook post ahead of the official announcement.

Abire said he personally informed Governor Aiyedatiwa of his decision on Sunday, adding that the governor prayed for him and endorsed his plan to move on to new opportunities.

He said their brief meeting lasted about six minutes, during which the governor wished him success in his next assignment and encouraged his career progression.

He said he made his resignation public early, to prevent speculation, dismissing insinuations about his exit and maintaining that his decision was voluntary.

Their resignations come amid reportedly looming mass resignations within Aiyedatiwa’s media team, with multiple aides indicating plan to quit their positions due to dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs.
