Renowned sports journalist and television presenter with  Super Sports, Charles Anazodo and Oludolapo Adewale, the lead trainer at Crystal Lattice Media, have  been named as the anchor persons  for this year’s   Newstap/ SWAN Five Star Award ceremony.

According to a statement issued by the organisers  and signed by the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, Adekunle Salami,  the choice of Anazodo and Adewale was based on their  experience in handling such a high profile event noting that with them  as the compere,  there will be no dull moment throughout the duration of the award night.

The Newstap/ SWAN Five Star Sports Award was instituted to honour five eminent Nigerians and corporate bodies who have contributed immensely to the development of sports in the country.

Those to be honoured  during  the second edition of the prestigious award Include Bayelsa State  Governor Senator Douye Diri,  NIS DG/ CEO Rt. Honourable  Comrade Philip Shaibu,  MD/ CEO Nilayo Sports Management Company  Ltd Mrs. Yetunde Olopade,  Club  owner Chief Robert Onyeani and Internationally acclaimed boxing promoter Honourable Omonlei Yakubu Imadu.

Last year's  event was chaired by the Chairman of the National Sports Commission Malam Shehu Dikko.

Winners of the maiden Edition included Governor of Benue State Rev Father Hycinth Alia,  Business man and philanthropist Honourable Kunle Soname,  Benue State Football Association Chairman Barrister Paul Edeh , GTI Managing Director Mr Abubakar Lawal and Mr Ebi Egbe, MD Monimichelle  Construction  Company.

The event comes up on Friday, March 6, 2025 at the Blessing  Hall of the prestigious Eko Club, off Bode Thomas Street Surulere, Lagos
