Arsenal are leading in the chase to sign newly-capped Super Eagles defender Emmanuel Fernandez.

According to The Peterborough Telegraph, Rangers want to make the 24-year-old central defender their most expensive outgoing transfer ever after they put a 40 million euros price tag on him.

It is a price that is expected to deter the Gunners.

Rangers have been given more ammunition to sell the player at a premium after he scored on his first start for the Super Eagles against Jordan Tuesday in Turkey.

Fernandez has received rave reviews for his overall performance in the friendlies against Iran and Jordan.
