The Federal Government collected N2.96trillion in Company Income Tax (CIT) in the third quarter of 2025 (Q3 2025), figures by the National Burau of Statistics has indicated.

The collections soared from the N2.78trillion of the preceding quarter, indicating 6.55 per cent rise, according to the CIT Q3 2025 report the bureau, issued yesterday.

In the period under review, NBS said domestic CIT received was N1.21 trillion, while Foreign CIT Payment was N1.75 trillion in Q3 2025.

The report said: “Company Income Tax (CIT) for Q3 2025 stood at N2.96 trillion, showing an increase of 6.55per cent on a quarter-on-quarter basis from N2.78 trillion in Q2 2025. The domestic CIT received was N1.21 trillion, while Foreign CIT Payment was N1.75 trillion in Q3 2025.”

In its breakdown, NBS said N35.197.43billion was collected from construction, N26.256.20billion from arts, education and recreation while electricity, gas and air conditioning earned the Federal Government N15.467 billion CIT.
