Senator representing Delta North in the National Assembly, Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, has reaffirmed his commitment to deepening development across the Senatorial District, highlighting achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and human capital development as part of efforts to consolidate progress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement to constituents, the senator said his representation had remained focused on practical governance and people-centred development, stressing that leadership should be measured by visible impact on the lives of the people.
Nwoko said several communities across the senatorial district had benefited from the installation of solar-powered streetlights aimed at improving security and stimulating economic activities, while transformers supplied to communities had helped restore electricity to homes and businesses.
According to him, interventions in water supply and environmental management has also improved living conditions in many communities through the provision of solar-powered boreholes, erosion control projects, and drainage systems designed to tackle flooding and environmental degradation.
The senator said education remained a key priority of his representation, noting that classroom blocks had been constructed and renovated across the district to improve learning conditions.
He added that 150 students had benefited from scholarship awards, while 1,500 candidates across the nine local government areas received support for their 2026 JAMB registration.
Nwoko further disclosed that 150 students were benefiting from scholarships under the Sports University initiative, while another 500 students were on scholarship programmes within and outside Nigeria as part of efforts to strengthen human capital development.
On healthcare, he said medical outreach programmes carried out across Delta North provided residents with free consultations, medications, and diagnostic services, adding that some primary healthcare centres had also been renovated and equipped to improve grassroots healthcare delivery.
The lawmaker also highlighted his efforts toward malaria eradication, revealing that a bill seeking the establishment of a dedicated Malaria Elimination Agency was currently awaiting third reading in the National Assembly.
In the area of agriculture, Nwoko said his office had facilitated the provision of tractors and modern farming equipment, while supporting fish farming, livestock development, cassava processing, and other agro-based value chains to improve food security and livelihoods.
He also said empowerment programmes targeting women, youths, and small business owners had provided training, financial support, and capacity-building opportunities in entrepreneurship, agriculture, and digital skills.
The senator added that community development projects, including the construction of markets and ultra-modern town halls, were aimed at promoting local commerce, civic engagement, and social cohesion across the district.
Looking ahead to 2027, Nwoko pledged to expand ongoing initiatives and introduce new interventions to ensure that development reached every community in Delta North, insisting that the focus remained on continuity, stability, and sustainable progress.
