Senator Ede Dafinone has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians in Delta Central and across Nigeria, calling for renewed commitment to peace, unity, and national development as they mark the celebration of Easter.

In a statement, the lawmaker said the Easter season serves as a reminder of “the ultimate sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, His boundless love for humanity, and the triumph of hope over and despair, light over darkness, and life over death.”

He extended “warmest felicitations and heartfelt greetings to all faithful,” urging Christians to reflect on the deeper spiritual significance of the period.

Dafinone stressed that Easter embodies core values essential for national cohesion, noting that “Easter calls us to reflect deeply on the enduring values of faith, sacrifice, humility, and renewal.” He added that the season presents an opportunity “to rekindle our commitment to unity, compassion, and service to one another, especially in a nation that continually seeks healing, progress, and collective purpose.”

Focusing on the development of Delta Central and the wider state, the senator said the season offers a chance to strengthen collective aspirations for growth and stability. “For us in Delta Central and across Delta State, this season presents another opportunity to reaffirm our shared vision for peace, development, and inclusive growth,” he said, adding that the Easter message should inspire citizens “to remain steadfast in our pursuit of justice, equity, and good governance, while uplifting one another and fostering hope in our communities.”

The statement reads: "I extend my warmest felicitations and heartfelt greetings to all faithful, as Christians across Delta Central, Delta State, and Nigeria commemorate the sacred season of Easter. This holy period reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, His boundless love for humanity, and the triumph of hope over despair, light over darkness, and life over death.

"Easter calls us to reflect deeply on the enduring values of faith, sacrifice, humility, and renewal. It is a time to rekindle our commitment to unity, compassion, and service to one another, especially in a nation that continually seeks healing, progress, and collective purpose. As we celebrate, let us embrace the spirit of forgiveness and strive to strengthen the bonds that unite us as a people.

"For us in Delta Central and across Delta State, this season presents another opportunity to reaffirm our shared vision for peace, development, and inclusive growth. The message of Easter inspires us to remain steadfast in our pursuit of justice, equity, and good governance, while uplifting one another and fostering hope in our communities.

"I encourage all Christians to use this solemn occasion to pray for our dear state and nation, for wisdom among our leaders, and for renewed strength among our people. Let us continue to believe in a brighter future and play our individual and collective roles in building a society anchored on righteousness and progress.

"May the joy of the risen Christ fill your hearts with peace, love, and renewed strength. I wish you and your families a blessed and fulfilling Easter celebration."
