Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has felicitated with Nigerians, particularly Christians and residents of the state, on the celebration of Easter.
In an Easter message delivered during an interview with journalists at Lagos House, Marina, he urged residents to embrace love, unity and sacrifice, drawing lessons from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

He commended Christian faithful for their devotion, prayers and sacrifices during the Lenten season, encouraging them to sustain the virtues of spirituality, charity, compassion and peaceful coexistence.
“As we come to the end of the Lenten season, it is my hope that the lessons learnt during this period of fasting, reflection and self-denial will be reflected in our daily lives,” he said.
The governor noted that Easter, coming shortly after Ramadan, underscores the need for gratitude, unity and religious harmony among Nigerians.

He urged residents to be their brother’s keeper, promote love for one another and contribute to building a peaceful and inclusive society.

Sanwo-Olu also advised residents to celebrate responsibly, stressing the need to maintain a safe and secure environment during the festive period.
Speaking on the state of the nation, the governor commended President Bola Tinubu for ongoing economic reforms, noting that they have begun to yield positive results.
He cited improvements in the financial sector, growth in the capital market and relative stability in key economic indicators, including inflation trends and food prices.
The governor acknowledged existing security challenges in parts of the country, expressing sympathy with victims and families affected by recent incidents, particularly in Plateau State.
He, however, expressed confidence in the Federal Government’s commitment to addressing the challenges, urging Nigerians to remain hopeful and supportive.
