He further announced a donation of N1.5 million to each of the 13 wards in Agege Local Government Area to support mobilisation and other political activities.
According to him, the consultations, which involved political actors dating back to 1992, had garnered widespread backing for his ambition.
“We have carried out a series of consultations and formally announced our intention to run. Stakeholders have endorsed our aspiration and expressed confidence in our track record as local government chairman.
“We are declaring today to formally notify the public of our ambition. The turnout here reflects the level of acceptance. I am offering myself for election to represent Agege Federal Constituency I in the House of Representatives,” he said.
On the party’s adoption of the direct primaries method, Egunjobi commended the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the decision.
In his remarks, an aspirant for Agege Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Remi Bello, urged residents to continue supporting the APC and its candidates in forthcoming elections.
