Former governorship candidate of Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party in Oyo State in 2019, Olalekan Ayomide, has joined APC).

Ayorinde officially aligned with the progressives fold in a move described by stakeholders as strategic and impactful.

He was received by Oyo State APC Chairman, Chief Moses Alake, with the party’s Chair in Ibadan North East, Azeez Elewure, Ward 2 Chair, Chief Morufu Ogboriefon, as well as other leaders and top members.

Ayorinde said his decision was not driven by personal ambition or desire to contest but because he wants to support APC and contribute to growth of Ibadan and Oyo

According to him, service to the people and the advancement of the state have always remained his motivation as a statesman and a true son of the soil.

Elewure lauded Ayorinde for joining the party, describing him as an asset, whose experience, popularity and grassroots connection would strengthen APC ahead of 2027 general election.

He said Ayorinde’s entrance into the party aligned with the vision and confidence earlier expressed by Alake, who also welcomed the development as a sign of victory to come for APC in Oyo State.
