Firefighters on Monday battled to contain a fire that gutted a section of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) at the Federal Secretariat.

Firefighters on Monday battled to contain a fire that gutted a section of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) at the Federal Secretariat.

The fire reportedly started from the top floor of the building early in the morning as workers resumed duties.

Although the exact cause of the incident had yet to be confirmed as of press time, sources said it might be linked to a power surge.

Some workers were seen rushing out of the building and nearby offices as the fire spread.

Firefighters were at the scene working to bring the situation under control.
