The pool of talented Nigerian young footballers, home and diaspora keeps getting larger and yes, newly appointed Head Coach of Flamingos, the Nigeria U17 female national team has his job cut out.

Coach Hakeem Busari, who recently released a preliminary list of 36 players would be experiencing pleasant headaches in the coming days as highly rated 15 years old American born Nigerian female footballer, Precious Omelogu, has indicated her interest in representing Nigeria.

Omelogu, who is comfortable as a centre back, as well as, a right or left back, have repeatedly repelled moves to make her pledge her future to the USA, prefering instead to dorn the national colours of her Nigerian parents, after impressing football authorities at the USA Olympic Development Programme and of course, with her team, TopHat Soccer Academy.

Speaking about her interest Omelogu said, “I'm a full-blooded Nigerian and it's always been the dreams of myself and my elder sister to represent Nigeria at all levels.

"I believe in my abilities and ready to contribute to the success of Nigerian female football, beginning with the U17 team. I hope I get the chance to come  back home and make the country proud."

Carolhelyn Omelogu, who is also mother to 17 years old Promise Omelogu, a rising forward in the mould of former Super Eagles striker, Daniel Amokachi, enthused confidently about the talent of her precociously gifted 15 years old daughter, stating that Precious Omelogu, is eagerly looking forward to wearing the colours of Nigeria and of course, going a step further than the semi-finals placing of the Flamingos under Coach Bankole Olowookere.
