The governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2026 election in Osun State, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has promised to govern the state with the fear of God if elected.

Oyebamiji, who spoke yesterday at the 26th Nasrul-Lahi-L-Faith Society (NASFAT), Osogbo branch, also assured residents of transparent leadership, accountability and people-centred policies aimed at restoring public trust and accelerating development across the state.

He reaffirmed his faith in God, noting that he is a genuine and devout Muslim who is prepared to govern the people of the state faithfully.

The ex-Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) says his contest is divine and he is resolute to run an all-inclusive and participatory government by raising the bar of governance in the state.

He said: “Though campaign has not started, I want to use this medium to appeal to you all, particularly our Muslim Ummah, to give your support to me in the forthcoming governorship election. I really appreciate you because I have seen in you that you are ready to support us.

“I am a genuine and devout Muslim. I am not a cosmetic believer and I can assure you that I am not going to disappoint you. When we get to government, you will all see the beauty of Islam in our conduct and governance.”

The governorship hopeful empowered no fewer than 1,000 members through financial support and other relief materials, describing the gesture as part of his commitment to uplifting grassroots communities and strengthening faith-based partnerships in the state.
