No fewer than 500 Senior Secondary School (SS3) students on Tuesday participated in a free mock JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) as part of activities to mark the 10th coronation anniversary of Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali.
The training was organised by Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali Royal Foundation, a non-profit organisation, established by the monarch as a veritable vehicle for self-help, community and human capacity development of the Igbogbo kingdom.
The students were drawn from six secondary schools- Zumratul Islamiyah Grammar School; Community Secondary School, Baiyeku; Lagos State Model Girls College, Agunfoye; Reri Secondary School, Oreta; Oreyo Grammar School, and Civil Service Model College, in the Igbogbo-Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The programme, themed “Empowering Future Leaders Through Free Expert CBT Training,” was held at the HOMAT CBT Centre, Igbogbo, and aimed to prepare the beneficiaries ahead of the forthcoming 2026 UTME/JAMB examinations.

In his address, Oba Kasali expressed gratitude to God for seeing him through to a decade on the throne, noting that the essence of the mantle of leadership was to better the lives of the citizens in any possible way, one of which is educational development.
He reflected on his days when the examination was based on paper and pen, noting that the advancements in technology have revolutionised the modes of doing virtually everything, including JAMB examinations, which is currently computer-based.
He explained that the educational outreach was therefore borne out of the need to empower and equip youths of the Igbogbo Kingdom with the necessary skills needed for academic excellence.
He urged them to maximise the opportunity in getting themselves prepared for the forthcoming examination by paying attention and applying the knowledge gained from the training, warning that any mistake in the examination might lead to one year of stagnation in their academic pursuits, as the examination exercise is conducted yearly.
He urged them to look beyond the seemingly prestigious courses, as there are also disciplines that are of relevance, especially in the contemporary global market and urged them to run away from hard drugs and companies that could fracture their future and goals in life.
