The Itsekiri Leaders of Thought (ILOT) have expressed grief over the passing of one of their prominent members, Engr. Victor Wood.

Wood, a former Executive Director, Research, Planning and Statistics at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), reportedly died in Lagos on Thursday after a prolonged illness.

In a statement issued on Friday, ILOT Chairman, Chief Edward Ekpoko, and Secretary, Sir Amorighoye Mene, described the late Wood as an accomplished professional in the oil and gas industry and a patriotic Itsekiri who served his people with dedication and resources.

While commiserating with the Wood family, the group expressed optimism that the legacy of the deceased would continue to inspire and positively impact younger generations of Itsekiri people.
