…Bawa emerges chairman

By John Mkom, Jalingo

Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, urged the newly elected All Progressives Congress (APC) State Working Committee (SWC) members to foster unity and inclusiveness.

Kefas praised the peaceful congress, saying it's a step towards strengthening the party.

He advised the new leadership to be fair, transparent, and engage the grassroots, ensuring inclusiveness to attract more members.

"Unity is key to building a formidable party," Kefas said, assuring his administration's support.

Alh. Abubakar Bawa, a former PDP chairman, emerged state chairman of the APC through consensus.

The Nation gathered that the party's state congress was decided through consensus after a series of consultations.

The announcement of the elected members commenced late on Tuesday.

Abubakar Bawa, who emerged as the APC chairman, is the immediate past chairman of the PDP. He joined Governor Kefas to migrate to the ruling APC on February 2 at a mega rally in Jalingo, the Taraba state capital, attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Kefas congratulated the newly elected SWC members, advising them to “discharge their responsibilities with fairness and commitment.”

“I urge you all to do justice to the party to attract more people into the APC family.

“My administration will ensure inclusiveness within the party, and all members shall be carried along in our activities.

“All APC faithful should remain united and supportive of the new leadership, who are going to work tirelessly in repositioning the party in Taraba State ahead of next year’s general election,” the governor said.
