Entertainers and theatre practitioners in Kwara State have urged political parties to field candidates with an understanding of the creative industry.

They spoke at Ilorin at an endorsement rally for governorship aspirant, Femi Sann (Araba).

Veteran actor, Kayode Olasehinde (Ajirebi), known for his role in Papa Ajasco and Company, led other entertainers to the event.

Among those present were Abdulfatai Kazeem, Suleiman Ayodeji Usman and Saheed Isiaka.

Speaking for the group, Dan Kazeem said the creative sector contributes to employment and youth engagement, adding political parties should reflect this in their choice of candidates.

He explained that their support for Sanni is based on his record as an entrepreneur, including his role in pioneering mobile phone repair services through Foneport.

The Convener of the event, Funsho Aliyu, said Sanni’s investment in the sector set him apart.

Aliyu cited the establishment of Flow FM Ilorin as evidence of his involvement in content development and talent promotion.

“Parties should consider candidates who understand the creative industry. Araba has shown this through his investments, including Flow FM in Ilorin,” he said.

The group reiterated support for Sanni’s aspiration ahead of the APC governorship primaries.
