Lagos State civil servants now have improved access to health care through Folarin Coker Staff Clinic at the State Secretariat, Alausa, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Dayo Lajide, has said.

She said this yesterday during an inspection of the facility, aimed at assessing first-hand how civil servants are being cared for and to ensure optimal service delivery at the facility.

Lajide said civil servants could access services at the clinic for free and encouraged them to enrol in ILERA EKO, the state’s health insurance scheme.

“The purpose of this afternoon’s visit around the staff clinic is to go around and see how our workers are being well taken care of,” she said, noting that access to the clinic was made possible for civil servants in Lagos State through the gesture of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. “Services here are free, and we encourage our workers to be on ILERA EKO, the health insurance scheme.

‘’The facility provides a wide range of services, including dental care, eye clinic, physiotherapy, laboratory diagnostics and pharmacy services.

Minor ailments are treated on-site, while complex cases are referred to general hospitals, ensuring continuous care for workers.

“We encourage you to please make sure you use this,” she said, stressing that productivity improved when workers enjoyed good health.

Lajide highlighted the clinic’s fully paperless Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, which improves efficiency, confidentiality and patient care.

“Interestingly, we have been able to set the clinic up on EMR. We don’t use any paper here anymore. We’re totally on electronic medical records,” she said, explaining that the system enhanced efficiency, confidentiality and continuity of care.

Director of Staff Health Services, Dr. Abdulrasheed Kolade, said the clinic also emphasised preventive care, offering annual medical screenings, cancer checks, nutritional counselling and mental health support through the Lagos State Wellness Centre (LASWEL).

Health workers welcomed the inspection, describing it as a morale booster, while reaffirming their commitment to delivering quality care to the state’s workforce.
