First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has urged Nigerians to pray for the peace and prosperity of the country as Christians begin the Lenten season.
The Lenten season begins today with the Ash Wednesday.
In her Lenten message yesterday in Abuja, Mrs. Tinubu urged fellow citizens to use the solemn period to seek God’s guidance for the nation, as well as embrace the values of love, compassion, and kindness.

“I urge us to remember to pray for the peace and prosperity of our dear nation Nigeria,” she said.
Senator Tinubu described Lent as a sacred time of spiritual growth and self-reflection, noting that the season offers Christians an opportunity to draw closer to God and renew their commitment to living by the example of Jesus Christ.
“As we begin this Lenten period, I pray this time of spiritual growth, self-reflection, and drawing closer to God is committed to following Christ’s example of love,” Mrs. Tinubu said.

The First Lady encouraged Nigerians, particularly Christians observing the season, to allow their prayers and acts of compassion to strengthen their faith and improve relationships with others.

“May our prayers and acts of compassion and kindness deepen our faith and reflect on our relationships with others,” she added.
Mrs. Tinubu wished Nigerians a blessed and fulfilled Lenten season, expressing hope that the period would inspire spiritual renewal and promote unity, peace and goodwill across the country.
“I wish us all a blessed and fulfilled Lenten season,” she said.
