From Dele Anofi, Abuja

The North-Central chapter of the All Progressives Congress Forum has emphasised the need for cohesion and collaboration among party members ahead of the forthcoming National Convention.

The forum, which played a key role in facilitating the entry of Caleb Mutfwang and members of his administration into the party in January 2026, called for continued support and coordination across the North-Central zone.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by its chairman, Saleh Zazzaga, the forum highlighted the importance of working together to strengthen the party’s structure and ensure effective leadership at both state and national levels.

The statement noted that the forum remains committed to the development of the party and to supporting the party’s agenda for the 2027 general elections. It stressed the need for all members to focus on unity, shared objectives, and collaboration in the lead-up to the national convention.

“Our campaign to bring Governor Muftwang into the APC was guided by our commitment to the unity and development of Plateau State,” the statement said.

The forum urged the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and other party leaders to ensure a smooth and inclusive process during the election of national officers, encouraging careful consideration of candidates to promote effective leadership and party cohesion.

“There should be no excuse for not getting it right at the national convention, and that is why we urge Mr. President to provide guidance for the vetting process to ensure that the right persons emerge as national officers of our party,” the statement added.
