Nigeria will soon discover their path to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations as the Confederation of African Football has confirmed May 19, 2026, as the date for the qualifiers draw.
A total of 48 nations will compete for a place at the tournament, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda under the banner “AFCON PAMOJA 2027.”

The teams will be divided into 12 groups of four, with only the top two sides from each group progressing to the finals.
Qualification matches will span multiple FIFA international windows, beginning in September and October 2026, continuing in November, and concluding in March 2027.
As three-time African champions, Nigeria will be aiming not just to qualify, but to mount a strong challenge for continental glory once again.
