Agege Molebi United Forum (AMUF), a non-profit organisation based in Agege, Lagos, has strengthened its community engagement drive following a high-profile courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, the Ologba of Ogba kingdom, Oba Latif Egbeyemi, Madarikan 1.
The visit, part of AMUF’s stakeholder familiarisation and engagement programmes, saw the forum’s President, Dr. Afolabi Abiodun, present a comprehensive overview of the group’s activities.
These include prison outreach at Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison, food distribution to vulnerable populations, campaigns against drug abuse and electoral violence, and educational support initiatives for pupils in public primary schools across Agege town.
In recognition of the monarch’s contributions to cultural preservation and community development, AMUF presented Oba Egbeyemi with a commemorative plaque, alongside AMUF branded souvenirs and other gifts.
The award described the royal father as a “symbol of royal excellence” and celebrated his dedication to the progress of Ogba Kingdom, Agege, and Lagos State.
Responding, Oba Egbeyemi commended the forum’s leadership and its founder, ACP Saheed Egbeyemi, for their commitment to grassroots development and public service. He also praised Dr. Afolabi for his consistent efforts towards the progress of Ogba, Agege and Lagos.
In a notable development, the monarch announced his decision—alongside his wives and council of chiefs—to join AMUF, effectively aligning the traditional institution with the forum’s mission.
He emphasised unity as a cornerstone for peace and development, urging residents to work together for the common good.
The royal father further acknowledged the contributions of ACP Yinka Egbeyemi, crediting the initiative for fostering social cohesion and supporting crime reduction efforts in Agege.
The visit marks a significant endorsement for AMUF as it continues to expand its influence and deepen its impact within communities across Lagos.
