Ondo State Government says it has begun 2026 promotion for more than 3,000 workers across the state public service.

Head of Service (HoS) Mr Bayo Philip, who launched the exercise yesterday in Akure, said the workers had completed their three years waiting period, and had been pencilled down for the exercise.

He said the prospective workers had been found deserving of the promotion and were invited to be interviewed.

Philip urged them to be of good conduct and ethics for a smooth conduct, which would ensure the exercise was completed within the shortest possible time.

“We appreciate Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for always approving the yearly exercise without skipping any year since his assumption of office.

“There are states in the federation that either approve promotion in arrears of many years or without immediate financial benefits.

We have it good under the current administration,” he said.

The HoS advised the officers to reciprocate the kind gesture by rededicating themselves to efficient service delivery, “because their eventual promotion is a call to higher responsibility.”

The Permanent Secretary, Office of Establishment and Training, Mrs Olufunke Dare-Atunse, lauded the good leadership of Philip, which she said, led to the early commencement of the exercise.

She said the HoS had always been liberal in handling issues touching the welfare of the workforce.

Dare-Atunse thanked the governor for prioritising the welfare of the public servants.
