The immediate past Minister of Power and leading All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant for the 2027 election in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has met APC ward executives across the 33 local government of the state as part of his ongoing grassroots mobilisation.
He described the grassroots as pillars of the party and an integral part of any successful government, saying no administration can achieve meaningful development without the input and participation of people at the ward level.
Speaking in Ibadan while rallying Oyo APC ward executives behind his 2027 gubernatorial ambition, the former Minister emphasised that strengthening the base of the party was critical to rebuilding APC and reclaiming power in Oyo State.
Adelabu noted that ward executives remained the closest link between the party and the people, and their role in shaping policies and driving political support cannot be overlooked.

He pledged to prioritise their welfare and involvement in decision-making if elected governor.
According to him, sustainable progress in Oyo State must begin from the communities, where the real impact of governance is felt, adding that his vision for 2027 goes beyond winning an election but focuses on inclusive development rooted in grassroots engagement.
The aspirant urged the ward leaders to remained united and committed to the ideals of the progressives, stressing that APC’s victory in 2027 would depend largely on the strength and mobilisation capacity at the ward level.
Adelabu assured the executives that he would continue to engage them regularly and carry them along in all party activities, adding that their support would be central to his campaign and governance agenda if he emerges as the party’s candidate and governor in 2027.
He said, "I cant do it alone, i need your support in fulfilment of my gubernatorial ambition, i wont disappoint you and the people of the state if elected as governor in 2027."
In his remark, APC leader from Akinyele local government, Alhaji Isiaka Alimi commended Adelabu for his love and respect for the party, calling party members and the entire people in the state to support Adelabu's gubernatorial ambition
Also, Alhaji Wale Sanusi, a leader from Ibadan North local government called on party members to support Adelabu's governorship ambition, assuring that Adelabu will not disappoint if elected as Oyo governor in 2027.
