…apologises to supporters
The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Muhammad Ali Pate, has apologised to his supporters in Bauchi State for his decision not to contest the 2027 governorship election, reaffirming his commitment to national service and endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
In a video message released on Sunday night, Pate expressed regret over any disappointment his withdrawal may have caused, particularly among supporters who had anticipated his entry into the race.
He appreciated his supporters across the state and beyond for their loyalty, assuring them of his continued dedication to advancing their interests in whatever capacity he serves.
Pate reiterated his focus on driving development at both national and subnational levels, with emphasis on strengthening healthcare delivery, especially in maternal and child health, as well as critical surgical services.
“Power belongs to God; He gives it to whom He wills and takes it from whom He wills,” he said, while pledging support for the emergence of a credible leader to advance Bauchi State’s development.

He also cautioned youths against engaging in political thuggery, violence and other social vices, warning that such actions could undermine their future leadership prospects.
The minister called on citizens to rally behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections and urged support for President Tinubu’s second-term bid.
He further pledged to promote credible candidates for elective positions, stressing that leadership must translate into tangible democratic dividends.
Pate warned party delegates against supporting aspirants who rely on financial inducements, noting that such practices erode democratic values and hinder sustainable development.
“We will not allow the emergence of unproductive aspirants whose actions could slow the pace of progress in Bauchi State,” he said.
