The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the weekend intensified grassroots mobilisation across Ondo State following the commencement of its nationwide digital membership registration exercise.
The e-registration, which officially began on March 2, 2026, was approved by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
Addressing party leaders during a stakeholders’ meeting at Igbara-Oke in Ifedore Local Government Area, the PDP National Ex-Officio member, Hon. Clement Faboyede, said the initiative was aimed at modernising the party’s membership database and ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026.
Faboyede said the exercise would also strengthen the party’s grassroots structures ahead of future political engagements.
According to him, "The digital membership registration is a strategic step by the party to modernise our database and ensure compliance with the Electoral Act. It will also help us build a stronger grassroots structure ahead of future political engagements."
He commended members of the party for their dedication and urged supporters across the 10 wards in Ifedore Local Government Area to take advantage of the ongoing exercise.
Faboyede added, "I encourage all our members and supporters to participate actively in the digital registration process. It is important that we capture the true strength of our party at the grassroots."
Also speaking, the State PDP Secretary, Barr. Oluseye Olujimi, explained the modalities guiding the exercise and called on party members to actively participate.
He said, "This initiative will provide the party with a credible and reliable membership database that truly reflects our strength across the grassroots."

"The digital membership registration marks a new phase in the development of our party. It will help to strengthen our grassroots political machinery and position the PDP for greater success," he said.
Fasore pledged the commitment of party leaders in the council area to ensure the successful completion of the exercise while reaffirming their dedication to the unity and growth of the party in Ondo State and across the country.
