Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s son, Alhaji Muhammadu Dikko Radda, and three newly appointed district heads have been turbanned at the Emir’s Palace, Katsina.
Those turbaned including the governor’s son were Alhaji Ahmad Abdulmumini Kabir Usman as Danmajen Katsina and District Head of Dankama; and Alhaji Abubakar Dardisu as Sarkin Mudurun Katsina/District Head of Muduru. Radda’s son was conferred with the title Gwagwaren Katsina II/District Head of Radda;
The colourful and well-attended ceremony drew traditional rulers, senior government officials, political leaders, business executives, and guests from within and outside Nigeria.
They were Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf; his Zinder State counterpart in Niger Republic Damagaram; and Speaker, Katsina State House of Assembly,. Nasir Yahaya Daura, alongside other prominent dignitaries.
Others were Katsina State Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe; his Jigawa State counterpart, Deputy Governor, Aminu Usman Gumel; the Emir of Daura, Dr. Faruk Umar Faruk; and Sultan of Damagaram (Zinder, Niger Republic), El Hadji Aboubacar Oumarou Sanda.
Earlier, the Kauran Katsina/District Head of Rimi, Alhaji Nuhu Aminu Abdulkadir, presented the newly appointed District Heads to the Emir for the turbaning rites.
The Emir of Katsina expressed appreciation for the unprecedented turnout, describing the occasion as the largest gathering witnessed in his reign.

He said: ‘’In the history of my reign in Katsina, we have not witnessed a gathering of this nature. I could not have imagined that this event would attract such a remarkable crowd and level of participation.
‘’I am calling on the people to uphold Islamic teachings, the importance of faith, discipline, and strong moral values in building a peaceful society.
‘’We must avoid envy and jealousy among ourselves. Instead, we should promote love, understanding, and mutual respect,”
He emphasised the need for unity and cooperation among citizens, calling on traditional and religious leaders to sustain efforts in promoting peace, stability, and development.
According to him, collective responsibility and support for one another—especially the less privileged—remain essential for societal progress and divine blessings.
